We have quite a few updates.
First of all - Friday, discharge day. Was much loooonger then we anticipated. Although nothing has really gone as anticipated this trip! By the time we got home we were super pooped. A little story for you. My mom had asked a while ago if she could give red envelopes to the bmom and bdad for good luck for the babies. Well on discharge day, we were right in the middle of giving the 2 red envelopes to them when my mom calls! bdad says - I would love to talk to her and congratulate her on her first grandchildre. So they did. It was special for them and my mom. My mom sent me an email that she wanted me to share:
"My thoughts of gratitude:
Dear Stephanie and Damon,
My eyes were filled with grateful tears as (bdad) congratulated me as Grandma. I was so touched by his sincerity. I hope that I were successful in conveying to him that we will take good care of the babies, and we will help in bring them up to be good persons. We will nurture them and love them. I was also so moved by the conversation with the birthmon. She is so selfless and loving that she deserves the highest respect. May God richly bless them and thier family.
Love to you all! PoPo(grandma,婆婆) Lydia"
The past two days have definitely been adventure filled. The days are going well and the nights are, um interesting nonetheless. Carmel is so sweet and sleeps like an angel. She squirms and opens her eyes around 1/2 hour before she is ready to feed. She coos and squeaks in her sleep every now and again. Michael on the other hand, is extremely active at night, kicking, squirming and crying. The minute he wakes up he is ready to eat and he takes more work to get down to sleep. The sleep deprivation has begun!! They are both eating very well and the diapers are just great (ha!). We sure get to see their personalities now they are finally ours full-time. It still amazes me that they are ours. They are so beautiful and loving.
Its 3:45 EST and we took the babies on their first outing in their new double stroller!! I'll posted a picture below. We went downstairs all the way to the business center so the maid could clean the room. lol
I did some video yesterday I thought you all would enjoy:
As always thank you all for your love and support. We are really hoping for bmom to be discharged tomorrow, but we are still not certain of her condition and certainly do not want her released earlier then necessary. But, we are ready to get back to our lives. We'll keep you posted tomorrow. Please continue to pray for her and for us as we move towards more of the unknown.

ReplyDeleteYou guys made me laugh with your first outing! I was thinking, "Wow, I wonder where they took them?" :) Sounds like Michael is an active little dude! Funny how such a tiny person can give you such a run for your money! You guys are amazing--way to go Mom and Dad!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLook at those darlings. I can't wait to love on them and take care of them. What a beautiful note and thoughtful expression of love and gratitude from your Mom, Stephanie. You blessed us all PoPo Lydia. xxoo
